Washoe Casinos Revenue Increases in MayThe Washoe Casinos revenue continued to show a steady growth of more than three percent of the casino earnings over the previous year. In the month of May alone, the Washoe casinos brought in $91.19 million from the casino gamblers and visitors. The figures released by the Nevada Gaming Board Control have reached more than a five percent increase over the previous fiscal year. But the South Lake Tahoe and the Carson City, Minden and Gardnerville casinos had lower revenues for this year compared to May of last year. The lower revenue income at South Lake Tahoe is due to the upgrade and conversion of Caesars Tahoe to MontBleu hotel and casino. The renovation had took place in the early part of May and affected the daily operations of the hotel and casino. General Manager Patrick Bassney is positive and optimistic that the renovation of the property will help the South Shore as a whole. In Washoe County, the slot machine winnings have reached $74.58 million, but the table game win earnings were down by more than eight percent. As a whole, Governor Kenny Guinn, said that Nevada is like a magnet for tourists and locals that want to enjoy world class gaming facilities plus state of the art attractions and the warm hospitality the gaming facilities offer. |
